Listen to your employees...

The longer I’m involved in the hospitality industry, the more innovation I discover. Big and small innovation ideas and projects are all around us.

·      The biggest

·      Ideas dazzle us.

·      But it’s the countless

·      Small ideas that truly make things great.

It was an absolute honor to work at some of the finest resorts in the world. Each was different and unique… and the more you look, the more you’ll find at each of them. They’re the creations of creative and innovative developers, architects, and designers. But it’s the small creative ideas that the employees working in those resorts come up with every day to improve the way things work that may be the most amazing. Even though those employees aren’t paid to be creative – they put on their thinking caps because they’re dedicated and committed. Little things – like improving the efficiency of service, that make guest experiences so much better. Their names aren’t on the marquee, so managers must celebrate them in equally creative ways. Listen to your employees, encourage them to think outside the box, let them tell their stories, and recognize their efforts. Making someone feel respected, listened to, and appreciated is the best way to say thank you today.
