After a weekend of watching the men’s and women’s NCAA basketball tournament, the life stories of these college athletes is as compelling as the games they play.
· Student athletes
· Vying for championships
· Is a life-building series of events.
· The games will end but the lessons
· Will continue for the rest of their lives.
It’s easy to get caught up in the winning and losing, but the lessons learned by participating at any successful level last long after the final whistle blows. I know several athletes who went on to rewarding and fulfilling careers based on the lessons they learned while playing. Like the value of hard work, the meaning of personal goals, and the thrill of being part of a team. The same disciplined men and women we see on the court become leaders in whatever they do with the rest of their lives and serve with distinction because of the perspectives they gained through sports. You don’t have to be an athlete to work hard and focus on being your best – that can be achieved by participating fully in anything you do. Be an active participant in life today.
