Imagine
being at the top of your profession: selected as the best by and among your
peers. Those were the ones I looked to recruit: some thought me crazy because
where could I expect them to go from there. I knew they were great hospitality
professionals: the challenge was to find if they could become full-fledged
business leaders. Getting stars and diamonds is one thing, getting the most out
of your people is a bigger thing; making a speech is a good skill to have,
making excellent decisions is a better one. The leaders we’re all proud of are
effective and humble, competent and confident, fair and kind. Good companies
give their best people a chance to be better: they recognize their strengths
and give them opportunities to develop them further. And good bosses look for
those with the potential to push past their thresholds and comfort zones:
they’ll be proud of themselves and you’ll be proud of them. Push past your
potential today.
