It seems that one of the qualifications for participating in politics is that you must be okay with being polarizing. How did that happen?
Politicians are elected
To server the best interests
Of the people that elected them.
Instead, they seem to be more interested
In serving the politicians that support them.
Leaders – whether in politics or business, are supposed to have integrity, meaning they’re supposed to be committed to the best interests of the people they serve and always tell the truth. Instead, many hue to a party line that’s intended to inflame people. Unfortunately, the people who get inflamed get dug in behind their beliefs and become bad neighbors (or relatives or coworkers). Try this: if you find yourself at odds with someone about something, do something scary like trying to find common ground with them. That’s what people always used to do. If leaders have gotten us to the point where we’ve forgotten that let’s remind them that we’re all in this together and need to work together on solving our problems together today.
