As leaders, we often forget the impact we have on the work environment of the people that work for us. They want to meet and exceed our expectations, but that can’t happen unless you take the time to notice what they’re doing and recognize them for their efforts. I’ve known leaders that walk past their employees and never acknowledge them or their efforts, and whether they know it or not, that’s a snub in the eyes of those employees. Sure, it takes time to and might seem inconvenient, but if you don’t, that’s what they’ll remember. It might seem like a small thing to you, but to them it can be an exquisite moment, one that sets and supports a culture of caring and appreciation. It’s a small thing, but it will have a big impact. Don’t miss a chance to show you care today.
