Update your itinerary...

Goals serve as the guideposts for the future. Set them wisely, refresh them as needed, and keep them in your sights.

·      Goals

·      Are points

·      On a roadmap.

·      Set your itinerary

·      And follow the directions.

Earlier this week we drove from our cabin to the nearest big city to watch an open-mic night at a local improv group. We knew one of the budding comics and happily applauded him and the others who got up and performed. This program was being held in an old movie theater that a non-profit group was managing, trying to rehab and save that entertainment venue in a part of the city that time had passed by. We were impressed by this grassroots effort at urban redevelopment. So many of the old northeastern cities in the US have fallen on hard times as their manufacturing bases moved in search of cheater labor and lower taxes, but people and groups like this are breathing new life into old neighborhoods. Their purpose and grit in developing a new vision for and old neighborhood is inspiring. Whether in cities or workplaces, or even in our personal lives, things grow stale, and this kind of vision and goal setting is what it takes to address the challenges of transitioning from yesterday to tomorrow. Support those working at revitalization today.
