Opening a casino hotel is rough work. It’s rough for action-oriented
people to slow down and do the planning that’s needed. It’s rough for people used to working regular
hours or shifts to adapt to the long hours and days needed to open a hotel.
It’s rough getting people to leave one job to take another; and it’s even
rougher to then build them into a satisfied, loyal and highly effective team. And it’s rough getting comfortable enough
with new surroundings to begin thinking and acting confidently, competently and
creatively. The truth is that, though the way may be rough, with good planning,
hiring, training and leadership we were able to get through those rough times.
Most jobs have rough times and spots: creative thinking and thoughtful
communications smooth those out and help people get through them. Be the kind of leader that helps people
through any rough times today.
