Steve
Wynn designed extraordinarily creative projects mostly because he believed he
could. The scope and complexity of his buildings were often on the leading edge
of design: believing that the Golden Nugget could successfully fill so many
rooms in downtown Las Vegas; the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City was the
smallest of the casinos there yet it was the most profitable, the groundbreaking
design of the Mirage, the beauty of Bellagio, and the warmth of Wynn Las Vegas
all set new standards for the gaming industry. His total belief in the ability
of his projects to be successful inspired those of us who worked for him to
think and plan and work harder so that the stuff we were responsible for were
equally innovative and successful. I struggled to understand and achieve that
level of excellence when hiring and training thousands of employees at each of
these hotels: but his leadership helped me and my colleagues believe we could do
the things we did. Believe in yourself today.
