“One must maintain a little bit of summer, even in the middle of winter.” Henry David Thoreau
It's over. The last light of summer has come again. It's been a great time here in the Adirondacks again this year and despite my recent injury, there's no place else I'd rather be. The autumn leaves have turned to their most beautiful colors and now have fallen. It's bittersweet to leave the mountains but it's with the knowledge we’ll be back this way again next year. I hope your sun sets beautifully and peacefully today.
Henry David Thoreau (1817 – 1862): American naturalist, essayist, poet, and philosopher. A leading transcendentalist, he is best known for his book Walden, a reflection upon simple living in natural surroundings, and his essay "Civil Disobedience" (originally published as "Resistance to Civil Government"), an argument for disobedience to an unjust state.
