Look in the mirror: what you see is what you get...

Everyone has an opinion of themselves. That’s the one that matters the most.

Who do you see in the morning when you’re brushing your teeth?

What do you think of yourself when you close your eyes each night?

People should consider counting the things they do each day like they count their steps. While it’s usually a pleasant surprise when they see how many steps they have (on the device of their choice), a bigger surprise would come if they saw how many things they did each day. Think about this in terms of your work: there are activities, actions, decisions, greetings, salutations, conversations, and so much more in addition to the tasks needed to do your job. It’s not like each has a value that you could easily add up at the end of the day – because the quantity is one thing, and the quality is another. And nobody does an objective evaluation of each – while some are scrutinized more or less than others, it’s the total that you see or think about in the morning and at night that matter. That’s a big part of your self-esteem, and it comes from what you think, more than what others think. It may be good to know what others think, but yours is the judgment that really counts.  Be honest and fair with yourself today.
