This quote is so true, both in business and in politics. Most professionals I know understand this. The politicians, however, seem to have forgotten this simple truth.
· Collaboration
· Is very important.
· That’s because two heads
· Are always much better than one.
I can’t recall any important issue or project I dealt with during my career that didn’t involve a team of people working together to get something done. Employee issues, contract negotiations, software development, project management, employee service events… the list of things I worked on is endless and while all of those involved a lot of work, each was easier and more enjoyable because of the teamwork and professionalism involved. Many of those were hard to figure out alone and all proved to be easier and more fun when working with others. Some (like opening casinos) were huge, and others (like Bellagio’s yearbook) were smaller – but all proved that there’s nothing we cannot solve together, and very few that we can solve by ourselves. People often ask me what I miss most since leaving the business – my answer is always the same: working with people. Look for opportunities to collaborate today.
