Work hard AND smart...

Once you believe you can, you must work continually to accomplish your goals. There’s no substitute for hard work.

·      Putting in the time

·      Is the key to getting

·      Things done successfully.

I often talk with leaders who are working on getting hospitality companies open. They work hard to get the right team; after that they work even harder to keep them motivated to show up every day and want to stay until their work is done. This can be tricky because there’s so much outside of their control – delivery schedules, construction schedules, regulatory issues, and stressed-out budgets. Openings need to follow a set choreography – just like dancers in a ballet, missteps can cause chaos. That’s why planning is so important, and why constant communications and transparency are needed to keep the plans on track. It's exhilarating and exhausting at the same time. It’s continuous effort, not only strength and intelligence that makes it all run smoothly. Done right, it imbues the participants with teamwork and pride; but all of that can be lost if the hard work falters. Most who’ve gone through these openings love them and want to do more. Whether working on an opening or just a regular project – put your continuous effort into it to accomplish your goals today.
