The proof is in the pudding...

Professionals needn’t boast or brag. Their work speaks for itself.

·      Don’t make new colleagues

·      Feel the need to talk about themselves.

·      Let them know you appreciate their skills

·      By commenting often on the work they perform.

Professionalism is best showcased by the work you do. If you’re competent and confident, your work will speak volumes about who and what you are. Yet some feel the need to tell and repeat stories about what they’ve done, who they know, or where they’ve been, as though the work they do isn’t enough to prove their value. Once you’ve presented your credentials, spend your time using your knowledge, skills, and abilities rather than talking about them, because we grow small trying to act great. Spend your energy building relationships because those compliment and supplement the quality of your work.  There’s an old proverb that the proof of the pudding is in the eating: it originated as a reference to the fact that it was difficult to judge if the pudding was properly cooked until it was actually being eaten. Like pudding, the true test of our work is in whether we’re able to perform effectively, not that we say that we can.  Let your work be how you’re measured today.
