Real friends are nothing to joke about...

We all have lots of acquaintances… but only a handful of real friends. The ones we can always count on. Through thick and thin. Good times and bad. People that:

·      Know and accept the real you.

·      Appreciate the value of friendship.

·      Will gently hold you to your promises,

·      And remind you of the importance of values.

·      Make you a better person because of their friendship.

These are the relationships you should never take for granted – they’re built over a lifetime of trust and rely on trustworthiness. Meaning you say what you mean and mean what you say. And apologize immediately when you screw up. Over a lifetime, there can be a lot of forgiveness – for not staying in touch, not remembering, or not being thoughtful. But never for not being true blue. Like many, I have only a handful of real friends, the ones who never fail to walk in if the rest of the world is walking out. They’re the ones you can never replace. Don’t wait too long between contact – it may start to become awkward. It’s not that this group is so large you can’t find time to connect: be sure you don’t wait that one extra day that proves to be one too many to do so. Make time to walk in on your real friends today.
