Today is the March equinox:
one of two days out of the year when the Sun shines directly on the equator and
the length of night and day are nearly equal.
The March equinox, also known as the spring equinox in the Northern
Hemisphere, marks the start of spring (in the Southern Hemisphere, it is the
fall equinox, which marks the start of their fall). The sun and the moon are two of the many
mysteries of life: things we learn about in school but don’t fully understand;
they’re one of many life lessons that teach us how things work in the universe.
And as with all things we learn – in school or work – we need to l grow by the
knowledge we gain. They are the plusses
and minuses that prepare us for all that we create and become.
Patrick White (1912 –
1990): Australian writer who is widely regarded as one of the most important
English-language novelists of the 20th century
