Put your shoulder to the wheel...

Most things are possible when approached by a team. After all, two heads are usually better than one.

·      Take your skills

·      And merge them with

·      The capabilities of others.

·      That combination and support

·      Forms the basis of teamwork-based success.

When we opened the Mirage, our CFO suggested developing a project plan. We started by listing all the tasks needed to complete that project down the left-hand column of a spreadsheet, and then listed the 365 days of the final year of that project across the top row: when printed out, it was 6’ tall and 27” long. With that we could clearly see when things were scheduled to happen and be completed by, and it provided us with a giant way to monitor our progress. This was long before the Microsoft Project App that gave people the opportunity to see how the pieces of any plan all fit together. But with our simple (but large) spreadsheet, we were able to focus on each of our respective parts of that plan. And that’s graphically made the point that anything is possible when you have a plan and the right people to support you and your efforts. That lesson was a big part of the learning process we all went through when opening that groundbreaking project. With anything you do, make a plan and surround yourself with great people. And talk about all the ways you can support each other today.
