Focus on showing up...

I’m still working on a new work policy. The one that encourages people to come to work. To do what’s expected.

·      Everyone doing their best.

·      Is all that anyone can ask for.

·      That’s how to achieve excellence.

·      But don’t obsess about being perfect.

·      Because that’s the enemy of being good.

The deal with work is that each employee is responsible to show up for every one of their scheduled shifts. And while there, to do their very. That’s what they get paid for. As leaders, we must then help them understand and buy into the results that are expected. Once people understand the overall objectives – the “why”, they’re more apt to see the importance and value of their work. Too often employees are just expected to be there and I’m not sure that’s motivating enough. To see where and how they fit in, how their colleagues and customers benefit, and what they’re really paid for accomplishing helps them see the bigger picture. Everyone needs that. And when they do show up, let them know you care and appreciate it. Don’t take employee attendance for granted. And while it feels perfect when they do show up, that’s not the same as perfection. Reach for attendance excellence today.
