Be alert for needed improvements...

A job is a job, and it usually has parameters. The fun part is making it the one you want.  The best way to do that is to be on the alert for what can be improved and prepared for the challenges of being innovative.

·      Process improvements

o   New technology applications

·      Improved policies and practices

o   Continually research other best practices

·      Improved knowledge, skills, and abilities

o  Practice continuous  learning and self-improvement

When you set your goals and objectives each year, think about what might be important to make your job better. People often wait for their boss to set goals… but adding your own is also important. And fulfilling. Innovation always starts with the person doing the job – from knowing there’s a problem to identifying possible solutions. And then being the champion of those solutions. That’s how organizations stay sharp and efficient, and where the best ideas come from. Sometimes we think that leadership is trying to do and be the best at everything. A leader’s role should be like an orchestra conductor – you can’t play every instrument, but you can make sure that everyone is prepared to do their best, they all work together well, and each has their moment in the spotlight. Supply the light in your workplace today.
