Help others become all they want to be....

Today is National Employee Appreciation Day: take this opportunity to celebrate employees for all they are and all they do to make your company great. Start by catching them doing things right: give them a public pat on the back and let others know you value those actions. Next, let them know you appreciate their being there: we often overlook how important good attendance really is. And then give them the gift of learning: it’s a portable benefit that rewards performance and promotes excellence. Each of these helps them become the kind of professional you need: your company benefits and so do all of the stakeholders in that success. Managers are always lamenting they don’t have sufficient pay increases to give to good employees: the insufficiencies they worry about are more than made up by these other strategies. This is how great professionals help others to become better professionals today.
