Good things come to those who wait...

We all want to get picked for something, and hope that’s it’s big. But getting picked for something small is also good.

·      Don’t be greedy

·      About your expectations.

·      Anything we get in life should

·      Be graciously and humbly accepted.

As a kid, I was short and slow and was always one of the last picked for sand-lot sports teams. Back then, I came to realize that just being picked was good. Fast forward to my career days, I felt good when someone hired me for anything – because I knew that my skills and personality would make them happy that they did. As a recruiter, I’ve always told people to just get their foot in the door – then let their skills, personality, and dedication prove their value. And that’s mostly worked in their getting ahead over time. That’s a lot like life in general – letting personalities and other attributes help build relationships. Meaning that each of us should be satisfied with a little and then leveraging the good things we bring to the table to improve the situation. When working with others, it takes time to build those relationships into trust and respect – don’t overlook what you have because you were hoping for more. Be yourself. Be patient. Trust that good things come to those who wait today
