Give 'em what they need...

·      You don’t want to make decisions too quickly.

·      But you don’t want to wait too long either.

When you’re a manager, people are looking to you for guidance, direction, answers, and decisions: you can’t wait too long to give them what they need. I’m used to working in an environment where time is money and supervisors must keep things moving. So, they must keep their eyes open, know what they’re doing, listen closely to the buzz, be a walking compendium of information, and keep their cool. That’s life on the floor at pretty much any business so get used to it. If needed, make time for planning, strategizing, learning, and preparing to then get back on the floor. That’s where your most valuable efforts should be focused and where you can do the most for your employees and customers. That’s where the business is. That’s where the fun is. So, don’t wait and see – give people what they need when they need it today.
