Joy in your work doesn’t just keep you young — it keeps you fully alive. It wakes up your mind, steadies your emotions, and strengthens your spirit. Passion is fuel, and when you tap into it, you don’t just perform… you thrive.
I’ve always believed I was born to be a Human Resources professional. I loved every part of it — building policies and programs with my teams, walking the floor and talking with employees about their hopes, their frustrations, their dreams. I loved coaching people into their potential and watching them grow into roles they never thought they could reach. I couldn’t wait to get to work in the morning, and I hated leaving at the end of the day. It never felt old. It never felt routine. It felt like purpose.
And I loved seeing others feel that same spark. I’ve said it many times: the best job for you is often the one you already have. The challenge — and the opportunity — is to make it the job you love. Do your best, then look for what else you can contribute. Leaders notice when people step forward, volunteer, and engage more deeply. Nobody ever got reprimanded for doing more than what was asked.
That’s how joy shows up. That’s how passion grows. It’s not handed to you, and it’s not written into your job description. You build it. You feed it. You keep yourself relevant by learning continuously, staying curious, and paying attention to what others know and do. Passion is sustained by motion — by leaning in, not stepping back.
Every day has a beginning and an end. Fill the hours with something that keeps you alive. Stating today.
