Two heads are better than one....

C
reative ideas sometimes come in the middle of the night, but more often they’re forged in the collaborative light of day. Because Wynn Resorts was a new company we had to develop everything from the ground up: that included creating a culture where everyone could have ideas and feel valued.  One example: an employee handbook that everyone would want to read, not the kind they’d sign for and quickly forget. Our employee communications team brought together people from throughout the organization for a brainstorming session: they came up with a handbook based on the books for  ‘Dummies’ format. That initial handbook was written in a conversational style and included creative graphics and interesting characters that provided colorful commentaries in the margins of each page. It’s hard to think up something new by yourself: when given that opportunity, work with your team to collect everyone’s best ideas.  Two (or more) heads are always better than one.
